Breweries & Wineries

Louisiana has a long way to go approach California in wining, St Louis in brewing and Kentucky in distilling; but we are working hard to challenge them.

Stay at Bienvenue Mon Ami B&B on the Hammond Arts Center Brew Art Festival night and for a small fee you can get transportation to/from B&B and the beer drinking/tasting Festival. Pat year events were in the early Fall and is planned to repeat in years to come. They pair food with brews and display lots of artistic media along with live bands in the background.

When traveling to the local alcohol manufacturing and tasting establishments from Bienvenue Mon Ami Bed and Breakfast and Art Gallery, we urge you to have a designated driver to assure your return to enjoy our fine facility is a safe one. Also, when planning your day trips you should check the sites linked to the names below to assure no changes have been made since this BLOG was posted.

Adding to the Brewery road trip options from Bienvenue Mon Ami, consider Chafunkta Brewery at 69123 Skybrook Road in Mandeville, La, 70741 formed in June of 2011 that has PM touring hours on all but Monday and Tuesday. Next on your road tours of brews look for Parish Brewery at 229 Jared Dr, Broussard, La 70518 (hours of tours limited to Saturdays noon to 2PM with Registration at their website).

For a little longer drive consider day tripping to New Orleans from Bienvenue Mon Ami Bed and Breakfast. Great food additions often come with the micro brewery ales near and in the French Quarter, Garden Districts, Mid-City, Irish Channel and more. Two that we have enjoyed many times are the Crescent City BrewHouse, 527 Decatur Street, New Orleans, La 70130 and the Urban South Brewery , 1645 Tchoupitoulas St., New Orleans, La 70130. Each has a different atmosphere (check their websites) but both are worth a visit. Both are open afternoons and evenings every day of the week.

Our Abita Brewery in nearby Abita Springs, Wild Bush Farm Vineyard (Formerly Ponchatrain Vineyards) in nearby Bush, Bayou Rum in Lacassine and Lula Restaurant Distillery in New Orleans are but four of many who are making a scene in the world of alcoholic beverage production. Each has a tasting area with numerous beverage options and extended hours. All four sponsor numerous events in and near their facilities. We particularly enjoy the Bush Vineyards "Jazz on the Vine" series we often highlight on our events page. Ask us for touring options and we might be able to facilitate transportation.

Tangipahoa Parish has several local Breweries. Local craft breweries that have Friday and Saturday touring and sampling include Gnarly Barley and Louisiana Purchase Brewery.. Low Road Brewing also has more touring times with Wednesday through Sunday hours.
