Bienvenue Mon Ami Bed and Breakfast and Art Gallery provides overnight guests each day with free true gourmet breakfasts, two complimentary evening candy pieces and gratuitous evening snacks. We have provided you with highly filtered (reverse osmosis, UV, pH balanced) water (bottled and tap), infinite coffees, unlimited tea, cocoa and soft drinks to quench your thrust. Our faucet and bathing water is softened to provide that luxurious bathing. Note that the reverse osmosis drinking faucets and refrigerated water use filters to take out the softener.
That leaves you to just seek lunch, snacks (beyond the candy and evening Hor D'overs) and dinner foodstuffs to round out a day's dietary needs.
Starting again in the Fall of 2020 with the return of our gazebo fire pit we plan to include Thursday Night BBQ and Saturday Night S'mores. Check us for a status.
You Enjoy Cooking In a Full Kitchen:
If you're into preparing your own food, Bienvenue Mon Ami has two full full kitchens with ovens/stoves/microwaves/refrigerators/dishwashers/sinks/pots/pans/utensils/dinnerware/etc. The proprietors and staff of Bienvenue Mon Ami keep one kitchen hopping with food preparations for events and breakfasts. That leaves a readily accessible full kitchen for our overnight guests to freely utilize. Bring and prepare your own lunch/dinner/snack food and any specialty beverages. Then enjoy eating your creations in the game room, grand dining area, your rooms private balcony tables or on the common area wrap around porch. All have grand views of the property and can provide a romantic or community based experience. All we ask is that you load the tableware/pans used into the dishwasher when finished.
Try our guest chef program offer to cook at least two breakfasts that your recipes will be credited to you in our publications for a communal guest experience that will give you many cherished memories. Only the guest chef and catered event options will be given access to the proprietor's and staff's professional kitchen. Check out our events web pages to see how this is accomplished.
You are an Expert Grill Master:
Bienvenue Mon Ami has accessible outdoor charcoal grills. Pack a picnic basket, provide some plastic ware/plates and bring a cooler. We provide the covered area, tables, chairs and grills. Your will soon have access to a smoker/grill main outdoor entertaining area that will provide a unique and unbelievable venue where you can prepare your own grilled creations.. The grill is next to our fire pit area currently under a construction revamp. It has wood burning fire pit centered in the middle of our 600 sq foot covered octagon gazebo with an adjacent 900+ sq ft floored picnic area. You will look at the gazebo and wonder how the massive flue is supported. This unique flue design carries the fire heat away from our guests sitting in cypress swings and unique chairs. Hence, a fireplace in July can be enjoyed even on hot Louisiana nights. As the fire pitted Gazebo/Picnic area will occasionally be rented to events that include non-overnight guests, our plans are to always have covered picnic area on the pond dam reserved exclusively for our overnight guests.
You want to Bring in Prepared Food:
Leftovers re-heated in our guest accessible kitchen. Get take-out from a local restaurant; bring it to Bienvenue Mon Ami; dine on our plates, drink our complimentary beverages; enjoy the views. Our lobby lounge area has art work to muse over while dining in the air conditioned space with grand outdoor views.
You want to picnic with our Bronze Statues or under the Oaks, but do not want the hassle of preparing - Give us advance notice and you can purchase Picnic Lunches:
With advanced notice we can provide various pre-packed lunches where their content dictates a varied charge. Talk to us if you desire this option. You can picnic most anywhere on the property.
You really don't feel like driving but want to enjoy take-out in our grand dining area - Have Us Arrange a Delivery of Take-out from a Local Restaurant:
Delivery cost is 1$ per mile traveled to/from our facility too /from the chosen restaurant.
You feel like getting that full service and/or unique dining experiences - Drive to/from One of our Fantastic Local Restaurants or Festivals.
Festivals and nearby events include the Amite Oyster Festival, the nearby Sicilian and Italian Festivals (Tickfaw and Independence),several nearby Crawfish and BBQ competitions (Kentwood and Hammond), nearby Polo event (near Folsum), the Amite Florida Parishes Arena (rodeos, Flea markets and more), the Bush Ponchartrain Vineyards (Jazz on the Vines and more), the Franklinton Washington Parish Fair Grounds, Shooting events at Covey Rise (Husser) and gobs more.
Football, basketball, Baseball and other LSU and Southeastern University venues can give you stadium food during their college sporting events. You could tailgate prepare in our kitchen for Louisiana State University and Southeastern games too. Our guest accessible kitchen readily supports your tailgating preparation needs.
You can readily dine at any of the open restaurants in Hammond, Amite, Akers (Middendorf's Restaurant), Folsum, Ponchatoula, Covington, Mandeville, Franklinton, Bogalusa, Kentwood, Tickfaw, Independence, Husser, Loranger and more.
Baton Rouge and New Orleans area restaurants and festivals are feasible with about an hours drive.
